Learn German with Frog-Job — hop into your future

You understand, but you cannot answer yet

This is where most Vietnamese learners get stuck. The grammar is learnt, the words are known, but when it is time to speak nothing comes out. This course spends all its time getting you talking and correcting you on the spot.

Learning through situations

Six situations you will meet in Germany

No general topics. Each lesson practises one specific situation you genuinely have to handle in German.

Booking and attending a doctor’s appointment

Phoning for a slot, describing symptoms, asking again when the doctor speaks too fast.

„Ich möchte einen Termin vereinbaren.“ I would like to book an appointment.

Phoning and dealing with a Behörde

Giving your name, stating your business, asking them to slow down and noting the details.

„Können Sie das bitte langsamer wiederholen?“ Could you repeat that more slowly?

At work and on placement

Asking when a task is unclear, reporting back, talking with colleagues and managers.

„Ich habe eine Frage zu dieser Aufgabe.“ I have a question about this task.

Housing and landlords

Reporting a fault, asking about the contract, dealing with neighbours and the management.

„Die Heizung funktioniert nicht.“ The heating is not working.

Shopping and services

Asking about goods and prices, returns and exchanges, complaining politely but clearly.

„Kann ich das umtauschen?“ Could I exchange this?

Meeting people and small talk

Keeping a conversation going instead of falling silent after two sentences.

„Wie lange wohnen Sie schon hier?“ How long have you lived here?

Choosing the right course

Conversation or general?

These two are the most easily confused. The difference is what you need: to speak sooner, or to have a certificate for an application.

The page you are on

The conversation course

Time goes on listening and speaking. Grammar only as far as speaking requires.

  • Focus Listening and speaking
  • Grammar and writing Less
  • Time to see results Faster
  • Use for a certificate exam Not enough
  • Prerequisite A2 completed
Choose the conversation course

General course A1–C1

All four skills, level by level. Slower, but solid and exam-ready.

  • Focus All four skills
  • Grammar and writing Full
  • Time to see results Longer
  • Use for a certificate exam Yes
  • Prerequisite None

Many people take the general course to B1 and then add conversation to get over the fear of speaking. The two do not rule each other out.

How the practice works

You are not thrown into conversation from the start

Telling a nervous speaker to “just talk” makes them quieter. Each situation goes through four stages, with the support falling away until you can manage on your own.

Hear a model first

Listen to a real dialogue from that situation and pick out the phrases and responses.

Guided practice

Swap words, complete sentences, speak within a ready-made frame — no need to invent yet.

Role play

Play the part with the teacher or a classmate, with unexpected turns in the situation.

Take the feedback and go again

Fix a few key points and try again straight away — the second run always flows better.

How corrections work

You are not interrupted at every mistake

Being corrected word by word only makes a learner more reluctant. While you are speaking, the teacher steps in only when a mistake changes the meaning. The rest are noted down and gone through once you have finished.

The aim is not to speak without mistakes. It is to speak, and to be understood as you meant it.

Pronunciation that misleads the listener

Corrected first — if they hear a different word, the whole sentence is lost.

A word used in the wrong context

Right meaning, wrong place — or too casual for a formal situation.

Grammar that changes the meaning

Wrong tense, wrong object — the listener understands the opposite. Other errors can wait.

Phrasing that does not sound natural

Grammatically right, but not how Germans say it — a more idiomatic version is suggested.

Frequently asked questions

Before you book

Most people who join this course feel the same, so the lessons are built for exactly that: hear a model first, speak within a frame, and only then speak freely. If having strangers listen really does not suit you, one-to-one is more comfortable for the first few months.

Better not. Speaking practice needs some vocabulary and structure to work with; otherwise the lesson turns into a grammar class. Start with the general course, work up to the end of A2 and then move to this course — usually about 4–5 months if you keep to three lessons a week.

It depends where you start and how much you speak outside lessons. But the feeling of “being less afraid to speak” usually arrives long before “speaking well” — many people notice a difference after the first few lessons, simply because they finally have somewhere to open their mouth without being laughed at.

It helps with Sprechen, but it is not enough on its own. The exam also has listening, reading and writing in their own formats. If your goal is a certificate, look at the exam preparation course or general course.

Yes, and say so at the consultation. Someone in a restaurant needs different things from someone in nursing. With one-to-one lessons almost all the content can revolve around your field; a group class is flexible within the shared topics of the class.

About 90% of lessons are taught by a native-speaker teacher; for the remaining 10% Frog-Job supports you directly. Teachers are chosen for clear pronunciation, so that what you hear and copy in the lesson is correct German from the very start.

The next step

Tell Frog-Job which situations trip you up

A doctor’s visit, a phone call to an office, or a conversation at work — Frog-Job will build the content around exactly those situations.
