Small group classes — at a friendlier price

The same content and the same teacher, but with the cost shared among a few others at your level. In exchange you follow a fixed timetable and get less speaking time than in one-to-one lessons.

What a group gives you

Some things you cannot get on your own

The lower price is the first reason, but not the only one. The four points below are things a group can do that one-to-one cannot.

Speaking with different people

Get used to one voice and a different voice out in the world leaves you stuck. A group gives you several people to practise with.

Learning from other people’s mistakes

A classmate asks the very question you were wondering about but hesitated to ask — hearing the teacher answer settles it for you too.

A fixed timetable keeps the rhythm

On your own it is very easy to postpone. With a class waiting it is harder to skip, and regularity is what creates progress.

People in the same boat

Most classmates are also Vietnamese living in Germany or preparing to move there. There is plenty to share beyond German.

A single lesson

How a lesson runs

Most of the time goes on the learners speaking, not on the teacher lecturing.

Warm-up

The whole class speaks German about a light topic and revises the last lesson.

New material

The teacher introduces the vocabulary and structures of the lesson, explaining the hard parts in Vietnamese.

Pair and group practice

The longest part. Role play, questions and answers, discussion — the teacher moves between groups to correct.

Wrap-up and homework

A summary of the mistakes the class keeps making, plus practice until the next lesson.

Group or one-to-one

A straight comparison with one-to-one

Neither option is better in absolute terms. The table below sets out what each one gains and gives up.

Criterion Group class One-to-one
Course fee from 4,500,000 VNĐ per course from 6,500,000 VNĐ per month
Your speaking time Shared with the class, but you speak with several people The whole lesson, but only with the teacher
Timetable Fixed by the class; you have to fit around it Arranged around your schedule
Rate of progress At the pace of the group Faster, aimed exactly at your weak points
Motivation Classmates keep you on pace Down to you alone
Choose it when Your schedule is stable, you want to save money and you like having classmates You work shifts, face a tight deadline, or find speaking in front of strangers hard

Frequently asked questions

Before you book

A group class follows one shared timetable, so a missed lesson does not get an individual make-up.

Up to 6 learners per class. At that size, pair and group practice takes up most of the lesson, so everyone has to speak — nobody just sits and listens. If speaking in front of strangers still feels hard, one-to-one is more comfortable for the first stage.

Everyone takes a placement test before being assigned, so the spread stays small. A slight difference is normal and not necessarily a bad thing — the stronger learner who explains something usually remembers it better than the one listening.

A class needs at least 4 learners to open. If there are not enough, Frog-Job tells you before the start date and you can wait for the next group, switch to one-to-one, or have what you paid returned.

You can stop at any time, but fees already paid are not refunded.

Vietnam is 5 hours ahead of Germany in summer and 6 hours in winter. The times given above are German time. Check the corresponding slot where you are before you sign up.
